What you can connect

  • WhatsApp: your chats and groups
  • Instagram: your direct messages
  • Muse: an AI agent
  • Dots (ChatGPT): an AI agent
  • Grok Bot: an AI agent
  • iMessage: your Messages chats, in the Mac app only

To add one, go to Settings, then Accounts, add an account, and follow the steps. Hullo’s server signs in to the service for you and stays signed in, so your chats keep syncing when your phone is off. iMessage is different: it stays on your Mac.

Instagram says a “Linux” computer signed in

That’s Hullo. When you connect Instagram, Hullo’s server signs in to Instagram for you. The server runs Linux and connects the way Chrome on Linux does, so Instagram may show a new login from a Linux computer, often with a location in the United States, where our servers are.

  • If you just connected Instagram to Hullo, it’s expected. You can confirm it was you.
  • If you didn’t, tell Instagram it wasn’t you, change your Instagram password, and write to us.

WhatsApp lists Hullo under Linked devices, as “Hullo”.

Disconnect or remove a service

Go to Settings, then Accounts, pick the account, then choose:

  • Disconnect to stop syncing. Hullo signs out, deletes its copy of the sign-in, and pauses that account’s agents. Your chats stay in Hullo, and you can connect again later.
  • Remove to also delete that account’s chats, files, tasks and agent requests from Hullo. Your account on the service isn’t touched.

For WhatsApp, Hullo also removes itself from Linked devices. Other services, like Instagram, ChatGPT, Muse and Grok, may still keep Hullo’s sign-in: to end it there too, sign it out in that service’s own settings, such as Instagram’s login activity.

Delete your Hullo account

Go to Settings, then You, then Delete account (on iPhone, Settings, then Delete account). To check it’s you, Hullo emails you a 6-digit code. On iPhone, if you signed in with Apple, you can confirm with Apple instead.

You’re signed out everywhere at once. Then Hullo removes every service you connected and deletes your chats, files and account data from its servers, usually within a minute. Group chats another Hullo user is also in are left. Your accounts on WhatsApp, Instagram and the other services aren’t deleted: delete those in each app.

It can’t be undone. Deleted data can stay in a backup for up to 2 days. The Privacy Policy lists exactly what’s deleted and what’s kept.

Can’t sign in to do it? Write to support@hullo.computer from the email address on your account.

Signing in

  • A sign-in code works for 10 minutes. Check your spam folder if it doesn’t arrive.
  • You can ask for a new code after 30 seconds.
  • Signing in with Apple or Google uses the email address they share with Hullo. If that’s a different address, it’s a different Hullo account. If it’s the address you already use, Hullo adds it to your account only for Gmail or iCloud addresses; for any other address, sign in with an email code instead.

Notifications

Not getting notifications? On the web or the Mac, check that they’re on in Hullo’s Settings. On iPhone, check your phone’s Settings under Notifications, then Hullo. To hide message text on your lock screen, change Show Previews there.
